Sophie Mahir - Founder of the ABA.
Sophie Mahir is a fully qualified and experienced Artist, Teacher, Trainer and Award-Winning Business Coach. Having brought together both her passions, entrepreneurship and creativity - she helps artists to build a profitable business around their own art practice.
Sophie has spent over 15 years working with hundreds of business start-ups and now artists; helping them gain the clarity, confidence and self -belief, as well all the practical business skills they need to build that dream art business and design their ideal life-style from that.
Sophie also achieved:
Becoming an Ambassador for Women’s Enterprise in the UK and working with a government sponsored Business Start-up Program for local women looking to turn their dream projects into small businesses.
Setting up and running the popular Newhaven Arts, and Newhaven Artists Trail in the UK; alongside building her own successful Art Business.
Setting up and growing the highly successful offline networking group Perth Arts, in the town where she now lives in Australia.
Sophie now offers a variety of Free Resources (via her website & YouTube channel) as well as her Online Courses, 1-2-1 Art Business Coaching, and of course this monthly Membership The Art Business Academy.
She does all this along-side her own artistic development and painting career.
Sarah Jane Brown GSA - Joined the ABA in 2025.
Sarah has a blend of both art and business expertise, coupled with an empathetic, insightful and solution focused coaching style. She has a knack of seeing the ‘bigger picture’. She’ll help you to gently shine a light on mindset blindspots and overcome emotional roadblocks on your creative journey.
Based on the Welsh coast in the UK, Sarah has been a full-time professional artist for over 15 years. She has a large studio where she makes and sells her paintings and runs painting workshops. She also offers online tuition and mentorship.
She is a qualified member of the Guild Society of Artists, holds a first class honours degree in fine art, a BTEC diploma in business and is a certified Insight Coaching Practitioner.
